John and Julia Schrom
With over 25 years as a licensed therapist, John engages students in developing healthy relationships and discovering their true self.
Julia brings guidance and nurturance to the students’ lives. As a former Hospice Volunteer, Post Partum Doula, and Family Service Coordinator, Julia provides parents with a solid connection to their son.
John and Julia are the proud parents of three, grandparents of four, and former foster parents. Together they bring a caring and loving therapeutic home care setting where students learn and heal.
Our therapeutic home care offers care for students requiring a small intimate home-style setting The non-threatening atmosphere is an ideal situation for students to heal and learn.
Stretching and challenging the belief systems of our students comes in the form of academics and activities, all of which spotlight success.
It is our belief that - Success Breeds Success!

It was high counsel that I once heard given to a young person,
“Always do what you are afraid to do.”
Ralph Waldo Emmerson

Adolescence can be a difficult time especially when there are special needs, trauma, or other compounding factors that interfere with growth and maturation.
Our students may have emotional and behavioral challenges that have
interfered with the natural maturational process.
Even though our students are bright, they have lost motivation for academics and have given up on healthy passions such as sports, music and arts.
Each youth attending Schrom Therapeutic Home has their own set of strengths as well as problems.
Individualized treatment programs focus on treatment goals developed with and for each youth during the first
few weeks of placement. Youth are active members in their care, along
with parents, guardians, and other professionals.
As much as possible we work closely with parents and guardians to keep them involved and informed about their son's progress as family reunification is vigorously pursued.
Schrom Therapeutic Home Care for Boys will not be an environment for
all students, but focuses on working with students who require a smaller home-like setting in order to safely explore personal development, experience academic success, enhance and strengthen social skills, bolster personal responsibility and accountability, and enhance family stabilization.
